Stubborn Body Fat

Stubborn Body Fat (what does this mean?)

For the last few years, there have been television commercials advertising a medical procedure described as “body contouring” or “body sculpturing.”  The companies that perform these procedures state that they use laser surgery, liposuction, and other invasive skin cutting methods to achieve the desired results.  In the commercials, you’ll see several before and after photos of people with this “unwanted body fat.”

Most of the people in the weight loss photos appear to be between 40 - 80 pounds’ overweight; an amount that can be trimmed down by eating better and getting more exercise.  However, the television commercials make a strong effort to lead you to believing that some people have a thing as “stubborn body fat,” and removal is only possible with the use of medical treatments.

Not only are the statements made in these commercials false, but they have dangerous health risks.  To shed extra body fat, individuals must change the types of food that they eat, and ensure that they are getting a reasonable amount of daily exercise.  It would be tough to find a person that has been maintaining a healthy diet and regular exercise, but still has an extraordinary amount of unhealthy body fat.

Before spending the hundreds, or even thousands of dollars for a medical procedure that could prove to be fatal, first try eating better and getting more excersize.  What have you got to lose, other than “unwanted body fat”?
